A quick and very rainy day trip from Seattle over the border into Canada.

Today was an exciting trip as we got to visit Canada for the first time! Vancouver in British Columbia is a 141 mile drive from Seattle. Here is the Canadian border.

The Vancouver Aquarium has over 50,000 animals and was very fascinating to explore. Here is a re-creation of Fnding Nemo :)

We explored inside then had a damp but necessary hot dog lunch before exploring the seals, dolphins, sea otters and beluga whales. Probably the best though were the beluga whales from Canada's Arctic, which were huge but so serene and peaceful.

Here is an underwater shot taken during their show. They have a huge amount of fat on them to keep them warm in the frigid Arctic waters.

This cool steam clock is in Vancouver's Gastown area. It was built in 1977 by Raymond Saunders and is a very popular attraction.

After seeing Gastown we were back at Canada Place and so we explored a little and watched the passengers going through their safety drill on this cruise ship - the Statendam. She was about to leave on a 7 day glacier discovery cruise to Alaska.
